Nepal Luxury Tour

Arriving at Kathmandu and transferring to your 4-star or 5-star hotel for the night counts as the first day of the Nepal Luxury Tour. As your flight enters the hilly region of Nepal, you will be able to see the northern Himalayas from your window seat. Once your flight lands at the international airport, the airport officials will guide you to the immigration desk, where you must fill out your visa application and get approval before leaving the premises.

To have your tourist visa approved, you need to have your passport (valid for 6 more months), two passport-sized photos, proof of stay, return tickets, a bank receipt of visa fee payment, and a fully filled-out visa application. You can pay your visa fees at the banking counter nearby that accepts many international credit/debit cards. Getting your visa approved can take around an hour to complete.

There’s also an online visa application that you can fill out. This comes in handy during the peak trekking season when people flock to Nepal and the airports are crowded. You will be emailed a barcode after you have successfully completed all the application steps. You must print out this barcode and present it at the immigration desk to get your visa stamped. After that, you will find our representative just outside the terminal; he will take you to your hotel room.

After an hour or two, we will have a brief introductory meeting, the drivers and tour guides will be present there, and we will discuss the aspects of the tour. You will be briefed about the upcoming tours and be informed about any changes or unforeseen circumstances that have changed our course of the Nepal Luxury Tour. Then, we will proceed to a welcome dinner planned specifically for you guys.

The next day of the Nepal Luxury Tour, we will get busy visiting the attractions of Kathmandu city. We will be visiting a couple of religious places and historic buildings that have been in Kathmandu for centuries. We will start the day with a visit to Bouddhanath Stupa, National Museum of Nepal, Budhanilkantha Temple, Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Kopan Monastery, and more. We will end the day with a visit to the Garden of Dreams for a serene and peaceful day tour ending.

All of these attractions are worth your time, and our tour guide will give you a brief history of these places as we visit them one by one. Some of the places we visit during today’s sightseeing tour are not completely free; they require a ticket to enter, which we will not be covering as part of the Nepal Luxury Tour package. So we recommend you carry enough cash to last throughout the day.

Also, the trek package does not cover any of your meals throughout the day, you are on your own. Some of the restaurants and eateries accept international card payments, but most of them do not, so cash is very important for the day. Some of the places can be dusty, so we recommend you carry masks. Since we will be visiting religious places and places of historic importance, we expect you to dress modestly, cover your shoulders and your knees.

Our Kathmandu sightseeing itinerary is not a fixed route; if you are interested in visiting some other sites within the city, we will take you there unless it’s closed for some reason. We try to offer our guests as much flexibility as we can, making sure the Nepal Luxury Tour is anything but boring and unsatisfactory.

Day 3 of the Nepal Luxury Tour is an exciting day as we get on a flight to experience the Himalayas in the north from a close distance. This is not an ultralight flight but rather a small aircraft that accommodates 8 to 10 people. We will fly over the hills for a panoramic overhead view of mountains, including Everest, Manaslu, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and more. All in all, you will see most of the highest peaks in the world in addition to a wide and clear scene of the Langtang region, the Manaslu region, and the Everest region.

After such a wonderful Himalayan flight, we will get on a private ride to roam around the city of Bhaktapur. We will visit places like Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nyatapola Temple, Pottery Square, 55-window Palace, Changu Narayan Temple, Surya Binayak Temple, and more. These sites are aesthetically very pleasing, the traditional Nepalese architecture that peaked centuries ago, has been preserved by these buildings.

You are free to photograph any of these sites from the outside, but you should ask the guide if they allow photography inside the building. Also, most of the Nepalese people are camera-shy; even though they are in public, they do not want to be in your camera frame. We recommend you avoid having people in your photos as much as possible.

After a day full of sightseeing around Bhaktapur, our next destination is Nagarkot viewpoint, from where we will experience a stunning sunset view while relaxing at a 4-star hotel or a resort. We will spend the night there.

The sunrise view from Nagarkot is a kind you have never experienced before. As the sun rises slowly, the northern Himalayan peaks begin to shower in golden radiance, and the entire Kathmandu valley is illuminated. A panoramic scene of the Himalayas all the way from the Annapurna in the west to Everest in the east, can be seen from this viewpoint. Peaks including Mount Everest, Annapurna, Annapurna South, Annapurna II, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Manaslu, and Jugal can be seen from Nagarkot.

After a scenic early morning treat, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel or resort and get down to the city of Kathmandu. Our next destination is Pokhara, so we will be heading to the airport to catch our flight. It takes around 25 minutes to get to Pokhara, but we might spend about 30 to 40 minutes at the airport. If the weather condition turns unsuitable for flights, the flights can be delayed for hours, which is why this day does not have much roaming around. We need to keep some spare time for unforeseen circumstances.

After we reach Pokhara, we will check in at our 4-star hotel for the night. You might have some daylight hours left to roam around the city by yourself, or you can also enjoy the vibrant nightlife in Pokhara by the lake.

Note: Glory Adventure’s Nepal Luxury Tour does not cover any of your meals throughout the tour, except in Chitwan, where we will provide you with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 5 of the Nepal Luxury Tour takes us around the city of Pokhara, exploring all the beautiful sites it has to offer. We will start the day off with a climactic sunrise view from the top of Sarangkot Tower, with the Annapurna Himalayas to our left and the lush green hills surrounding us from all directions. It’s an early morning 30-minute ride to the top of Sarangkot hill. Next, we will visit the famous Bindabasini Temple, which is right opposite the main foothill road to Sarangkot.

The temple of Bindabasini is very impressive and grand, sitting atop a small hill. This temple is visited by hundreds of thousands of people every year, especially by pilgrims from all over the country and India. Keeping the religious theme, our next destination is the Barahi Temple, which requires a boat ride since it’s located in the middle of the Fewa Lake.

Next, we will visit the World Peace Stupa that is just above the hill opposite the Barahi Temple. This stupa was a collective effort of Buddhists and monks all over the world, they made 80 of these to promote peace after the end of the Second World War. This scenic stupa overlooks the entire city along with the large Fewa Lake.

From there, we will hike a little further to get to the Pumdikot Shiva Statue, which is a recently built religious site. It sits at 1500 meters above sea level and has been ranked the highest Shiva statue in Nepal, next to the Kailashnath Mahadev Statue in Suryabinayak (a little west of Bhaktapur). Likewise, we will visit a couple more sites and call it a day.

The very next day, we will be leaving the amazing city of Pokhara and getting on a jeep or bus ride to the hot and humid Chitwan National Park. This 160 km ride will take around 6 or more hours to complete, essentially taking away a whole daylight time. We will leave Pokhara after lunch, around 12 PM or sooner if you would like to spend your evening hours roaming around in Chitwan.

From Pokhara, we will follow the Prithvi Highway all the way to Mugling. This is a two-lane road that might experience short traffic jams at times, but the road condition is very good in comparison to a standard driving experience in Nepal. After we reach Mugling, we will take a right turn and head towards Narayanghat, over the Narayangadh Mugling Highway. We will reach Narayanghat shortly, followed by an arrival at Bharatpur. From there, the road is straight, unlike the winding roads we passed to reach Bharatpur.

The road condition is pretty average for the most part, with a few bumpy sections and potholes scattered all over. We will follow the Marsyandi River for the most part until we reach Mugling, from where we will drive alongside the Trishuli River. After we reach Chitwan, we will check in at our 4-star resort for the two upcoming nights. This will be a full board package with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Chitwan is very different from Kathmandu and Pokhara; it is full of lush vegetation, it is hot and humid, and it’s home to hundreds of different animals and birds. We will start the day at around 7 in the morning to maximize our chance of encountering wild animals during the full-day jungle safari. We will have a light breakfast, pack our lunch, and get moving on an exciting safari within the Chitwan National Park.

The list of commonly sighted animals includes the famous One-horned Rhinos, Sloth Bear, different species of Deer, Monkeys, Wild Boar, Gharial, Mugger Crocodiles, Reptiles, and Smooth-Coated Otters. Honestly, you might even encounter a one-horned Rhino while you are on the streets of Chitwan, while some of them are full of rage, most of them are docile and go around looking for food. These are not “street Rhinos” like the street dogs you find all over; they are escapees of the national park.

On the other spectrum, Bengal Tiger, Dhole (Wild Dog), Indian Leopard, Striped Hyena, Clouded Leopard, etc., are rare sightings. The reason for their rare sighting can be traced to their low population and evasive nature. While wild animals like Rhinos, Elephants, and even some species of deer have been habituated to humans, the carnivores, on the other hand, have been straying away from the trails of humans.

This full-day jungle safari lasts about 8 hours; within that time frame, you will surely get to see some amazing animals and have a great jungle safari experience. There are 3 ways to experience a jungle safari in Chitwan: by walking, on a jeep, and on an Elephant. The standard way is to go on a jeep jungle safari, but we can make adjustments if you want to go for the other options.

From Chitwan, we will have to travel 180 km to get to Kathmandu, this ride will last about 7 hours. We will either take a jeep or a tourist bus, depending on the size of the tour group. While the tourist bus is the most comforting ride you can take within Nepal, the Jeep ride is faster, and you can stop anywhere you want during the long ride.

First, we will head northeast from Chitwan to get to Bharatpur. From there, we will take a right turn and head east over the Mahendra Highway, the longest highway in Nepal. We will cross Ratnanagar, Khairahani, Bhandara, and Newarpani to reach Hetauda. As we get closer to Hetauda, we will switch over to the Madan Bhandari Highway and head north from the city center over the Tribhuvan Highway to get to Kathmandu.

After we reach Kathmandu, we will take you to your 4-star hotel room for a much-needed rest. But you can’t just sleep yet, we have a farewell dinner planned for you with a special traditional dance and cultural show. We will also share with everyone in the group a Glory Adventure T-shirt as a token of love for traveling with us.

This is the final day of the Nepal Luxury Tour. We appreciate your honest feedback about the experience you had with us, and you are more than welcome to travel with us one more time. We will hold a brief farewell ceremony, say goodbye to one another, and then escort you to the international airport according to your flight schedule.
