Best Season for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek
Since the constant climate and driest weather with excellent vision are essential for the luxury trek and the helicopter ride, the spring and autumn time will be the best for embarking on the luxury Everest base camp trek.
Some adventurous souls also brave the challenge of the winter cold in December, January, and February but it is best to not go on the summer and the monsoon climate of June, July, and August.
The heavy rains often delay or postpone the Lukla travel and the muddy tracks often cut off some villages.
The spring climate in March, April, and May on the other hand activate the life in the forest and cover the Khumbu Mountains and hills with Nepal’s beloved flowers: rhododendrons and magnolia.
Thin snow can be found here and there, but it is not too deep or risky. The autumn climate of September, October, and November also color the Everest trail with its warm hues but most importantly, the paths are clear of snow and the climate of rain.
Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return Difficulty
No doubt our luxury Everest base camp trek with helicopter journey represents the ultimate form of the luxury adventure on the Everest trail. The trek is shorter in duration and length, the trekking days are also moderately long, and the overall path is also well signposted with excellent amenities and infrastructure.
All our nights will be peaceful and meals will be par excellence. However, we should not forget that we will be walking among the highest Himalayas on Earth and reach the maximum elevation of 5644 m at Kala Patthar.
Most of our nights will occur above 4000 m which means the altitude and the Himalayan environment will be the challenges we have to face. Thus, these challenges classify this trek as a moderately strenuous category 2 adventure in Nepal.

We do urge those who have heart, and lung issues to please go for the overall health checkups. Also, if flying high makes you nervous, please rethink about taking this journey.
Altitude Sickness and Management with Acclimatization
The luxury and comfort can enhance your experience in the journey but they can certainly not eliminate the hazard of altitude sickness that is present in our luxury Everest Base Camp trek.
The quick changes and increase in the daily elevation, the higher heights of more than 3500 m, the thin air, less air pressure, and dryness in the air with the incapability of your body to properly get used to the new environment all causes the onset of altitude sickness or acute mountain sickness/AMS.
We are not saying everyone on the trip will have AMS but some can. Headache is usually the first sign that you will have when you are at 3000 m or more. If you have, then know that your body is warning you to slow down and intake plenty of fluid either plain water, soups, fruit juice, etc.
To allow you to get comfortable with the Khumbu Himalayan air, you will have two nights rests at Namche and Dingboche. For the complete avoidance of AMS, you can choose to take Diamox but only under a doctor’s prescription.
If the altitude symptoms progress to vomiting, difficulty breathing, and drowsiness, then do not hide from our guide. With his assistance, you must trek down till you recover.
Right Training and Preparation for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek
Although short and easy, the luxury Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return still needs the proper preparation on your part. This involves prepping for the longer hikes along the steep terrain.
Since on any hiking trip regardless of the number of days needed, the legs, heart, and lungs will face intense pressure. Thus, we suggest you focus on strengthening these vital body parts so the trekking activity will not be too much for you.
The right exercises will be the so-called aerobic ones which are swimming, running, walking, jogging, biking, and cycling. A treadmill in the gym with squatting with a light weight, planks, pull and push-ups, and other sporting activities will also be appropriate.
For climbing and descending trails, it will be best if you ascend up and down your home or apartment stairs. You can also go for a light excursion on foot to local hills or mountains.
Also, understand that weather is capricious in the Himalayas so expect the sudden and instant weather change and pack accordingly.

Travel Insurance
Having a personal international travel insurance with the focus on the extreme hiking activities in the mountains is must for our luxury Everest Base Camp trek 13 days adventure.
If you are unable to give us the proper insurance copy, we will not be able to pre-arrange the permits essential for the luxury trek to Everest base Camp.
After all, we will be trekking in the highest playground of the Himalayas where considerable and unthinkable risks are also always present. You never know when you may run into the hazards of injuries, AMS, illness, infections, or accidents.
Sometimes, the circumstances may also necessitate the prompt helicopter search, and transfer which are no doubt very hard to afford. Thus, you must have a personal travel insurance that has the coverage for the hiking sports till 5700 m altitude at least.
If you have this coverage, your insurer will look after the expenses for your Heli evacuations till the mentioned elevation. Also it will be very wise on your part to also integrate the medical coverage along with the financial protection against theft, robbery, or damage of your personal items.
