Everest Three High Passes Trek

The journey of your journey will start your arrival at the TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport) in Kathmandu. From there you will get picked up by our office representative or staff who will you drop off at the Hotel where you will get your accommodation later. There you will also meet our office staff for further discussion and a small briefing session about the whole itinerary. There you can have your doubts and queries clear in person conversation. After that, you can have your refreshment time in your Hotel.

There you can also have the street exploring along with the hunting for the local dishes and foods from local markets and streets. Enjoy the varieties of Nepali dishes and cuisines along with the great hospitality of people there.

Early in the morning you will enjoy your breakfast at the lodge where you’ve stayed, and thereafter you need to get ready for the flight up to Lukla. It is going to be a very scenic flight from where you will get the first glimpse of Mt. Everest. It will be a grand experience to witness the highest peak in the world from an airplane. It will take us the flight time of nearly 45 min to get there in Lukla. Upon arrival in Lukla, you will get to introduced with our Travel guide and other helping staff such as Potter. From there having a bit of rest, we will continue our journey for trek to Phakding.

The trail gets a bit descending as we start to move towards Phakding. You will start to enter the forest areas of Rhododendron and junipers. After arriving in Dudh Koshi River and crossing it through the suspension bridge, you will get there in Phakding.

You will get a tranquil morning and a fresh start to the day at Phakding. So, after your breakfast, we will continue our trek for the Namche Bazer. It will be a great experience to get time in Namche Bazer.

As we start the journey, the pine forest will arrive, and the villages such as Zam Phute and Tak Tok. There you will witness the traditionally built houses and people living there in the traditional way too. The trail will lead us to the place called Monjo, the gateway to the Everest Region or the Sagarmatha National Park. There we get checked by the official about our permits and continue our journey for Namche Bazer.

After crossing the hill slope after the Monjo, you will see the beautiful small town at the lap of the massive hill which is Namche Bazer just below the glimpse of Mt. Everest. It is a very beautiful Himalayan Sherpa Town that holds modern services as well as the traditional living method inside a frame. So, it will be a great experience to visit the place,

Today we will do no further trek towards the itinerary. This day will be dedicated to the acclimatization of higher altitudes. So, you are getting a full day to have your rest. But you can also explore the town by visiting the different aspects of it, such as museums, and galleries as well as trying different restaurants and cafes. They will provide you with a pretty good range of various dishes. We will also conduct a small and short gentle hike up to the Everest View Hotel to help you with better acclimatization. From there you will have a massive as well as close view of majestic Mt. Everest and the following range. From there we will return to Namche Bazer and stay for the day.

On the fifth day of your itinerary of Everest Three High Passes Trek, we will be moving our footsteps for the journey to Thame. You will gain a higher altitude than before nearly getting up to the altitude of 4000m.

The trail will pass through picturesque villages like Hungmo, Thambuuteng, and Tauranga. As well the trail will pass alongside the Bhote Koshi. There are several thick forests of alpine and pine trees to encounter. There you can also witness different rare high-altitude medicinal herbs and plants that are about to extend.

Before arriving there at Marulung, we will visit the monastery. Little further we will reach the Thame.

Today, the trek will be a bit difficult and intense as well, as we will go through crossing the high pass of Renjo La Pass. The trek will be for arriving at the Gokyo. So, early in the morning, we will start our trek after getting breakfast at Thame.

The trail will be a bit rough too and through the sloppy hills, as we are achieving an altitude of more than 5000m in altitude gaining a difference of 1200m plus in elevation from the Thame. You will also get

to witness the yak herding as well. Before reaching the Renjo La Pass you should cross the ascending remote path with the rough geography. There are very less plants to be seen as we gain more altitude in the journey.

While arriving at the Renjo La pass which is at an altitude of 5360m you will be amazed by the magnificent view of Mt. Everest, Mt, Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Cho Oyo. It also offers the grand perspective of the proper Himalayan range from a close view. From there we will descend our trail to Dudh Pokhari. It comes before we arrive at the Gokyo Valley. There at the Gokyo Valley, you will see some beautiful water bodies of the highest altitude freshwater lakes. You can explore further for the interaction in nature.

With a very peaceful morning in the lap of mountain peaks, we will start our journey of a short hike up to Gokyo Ri. It is just above the Gokyo Valley which offers you an stunning and incredible view of the Everest surroundings. Until there we need to climb the ascend to get there. This ascending path passes through the vertical steps of the rough hill. From there you will also get the stunning sunrise above the peaks. You will be at the elevation of 5357m at the point of Gokyo Ri. So, after the hike up to Gokyo Ri and having a scenic time there in viewpoint, we will return from there descending to Gokyo Valley.

After having breakfast at Gokyo, we will head towards the Thangnak. We will begin our trek by crossing the Gokyo Valley. We will also cross through the Gokyo Lake and through the Ngozumba Glaciers. It is one of the glaciers in Khumbu Region bigger biggest after the Khumbu glaciers.

While you go through the trail, you will get massive views of the surrounding beauty of mountain peaks as well as the beautiful topography. The further walk from there will get us to the Thangnak.

Today again we are crossing another high pass to arrive in Dzhongla village. So, after getting the morning breakfast we will continue our journey. From there we will start to ascend another vertical climb toward the Cho La Pass. It is another high pass in this journey of Everest Three High Pass Trek. The trek of this day will be so interesting as you will be crossing the rough steps and a glacier. When we reach the Cho La Pass, you will be at an altitude of 5420m from sea level. From there you will get the scenery of snow-capped peaks above the glaciers.

You will also witness the grand views of  other peaks such as Kyajo Ri and Tengkangpoche. After we begin to descend to get there in Dzhongla, you will see the spectacular view of Ama Dablam, Mt. Cholatse, and Pheriche village from the distance. After arriving in Dzhongla, we will get the rest of the day.

Another, amazing day of this itinerary. You will be trekking towards Gorakshep, along with visiting the Everest Base camp. So, having breakfast we will again continue our journey to get there in Gorakshep. The trek will be intense as we are moving towards the Gorakshep through the high-altitude terrains. You will also get the stunning views of glaciers and valleys as well the surrounding peaks facing at you.

After arriving there at Gorakshep, we will leave all of our trekking packs at the lodge in there and frequently move towards the Everest Base Camp. It will just take some climbing to ascend the trail as the Everest Base Camp is just above the Gorakshep. Of course, the path will be a bit tough to walk. But it is worth it as you will be rewarded with the best views of Khumbu glaciers and the icefall along with the massive face of Mt. Everest. The surroundings you are seeing the examples of unspoiled nature. After spending some time there enjoying the surrounding view, we will return to Gorakshep for accommodation facilities.

We will start our journey early in the morning to meet the sunrise view from Kala Patthar. It will take us nearly 2 hours of trek to get there in Kala Patthar. You will be at the high altitude terrains during this trek. The sunrise view from the Kala Patthar is one of the highlights of this trekking journey. You will be at an altitude of about 5644m, and having the sunrise view from such an altitude is going to be a great experience for you. You will be amazed by the magical view of sun rays scattering from the highest peaks in the world.

From there we will descend a little to get there in Lobuche. It will take us to lose the altitude of about 700m of descent to reach Lobuche, but with the vertical descent, it just takes some hours of trekking journey.

Today will be the longest trek of this itinerary. We will be crossing Kongma Ma La Pass to get there in Chukung. You will be passing through the long trail between these two points, which will take us nearly the trekking duration of about 10 hours of continuous walk. This high pass will be the last pass that you will cross among the three passes of the Everest Three High Passes Trek.

So, it is going to be a tough day in this itinerary. While you arrive at the Kongma La Pass, you will see the spectacular scenery of stunning peaks including Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, and Ama Dablam. You will also get a beautiful glimpse of Island Peak and the Amphu Lapcha. After having stunning views of the surroundings from the Kongma La Pass, we will descend back to Chukung. It will require some hours of continuous vertical descent to cross before we arrive at the Chukung.

Today on the 13th day of your itinerary, we will descend back to the Namche Bazer. It will be a bit of a vertical and slightly inclined descent trail to reach Namche Bazer. We will start our trek toward Namche after breakfast. You will again start to get inside the light alpine forest as well as the juniper forest. There somewhere, you will also witness the rhododendron trees all across the way as you start to lose your altitude below 4000m from the sea level.

After arriving there at Namche Bazer, you can rest for the day. You can also enjoy the vibrant evening roaming at Namche Bazer. You can try the local dishes as well as the local cuisines too.

We will be returning back to Lukla on this day. Your itinerary days are near to end. After breakfast, we will descend back to Lukla through the Monje passing the same route and trail which we followed while we ascended. It will be a light trek of some hours to get there in Lukla.

After arriving in Lukla, you will have time to rest. There we will also conduct a small farewell celebration before heading towards Kathmandu.

In the morning, after breakfast, you will be meeting the travel staff for the very last time. You are getting your flight to Kathmandu. It will take 45 min for the flight to arrive there in Kathmandu Valley. You can again enjoy a glimpse of Mt. Everest and the beauty of the following range. It will take you to the domestic airport in Kathmandu. You will get a transfer service from the airport to the Hotel.

Thereafter, you can have your refreshment time. You will have a long day remaining in your itinerary during this day, so you can use it to travel around Kathmandu as it is another big subject in traveling with its historical, cultural, and religious significance. The places such as Swayambunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath,  and the historical places and sites like Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and many more inside the Valley. You can also look for the nightlife experience around the bars and streets of Thamel before you depart from Kathmandu. You can also visit local markets like Asan Bazer or within Thamel to buy yourself some souvenirs to take with you as a token from Nepal.
