Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and Hotel transfer (1400 m)

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal, and most international visitors arrive here regardless of their destination within the country. This valley is full of historical sites and ancient temples that you will definitely find interesting. If you have some time to kill during your stay in Kathmandu, you should definitely check out a few of the attractions around the city. But before that, you need to work out your visa approval at the airport.

It is a very simple process to get a tourist visa to Nepal. You do not have to apply for any online applications beforehand; you can simply show up at the airport with all the required documents, and you will be granted a visa. You just need to have your valid passport, a bank receipt of visa fees payment, two passport-sized photos, proof of accommodation, and proof of stay.

In addition to the easy “visa-on-arrival” process, you can also apply for a tourist visa online. The Nepalese government’s official site has an online form for you to fill out and pay your visa fees digitally. Following that, you will get a barcode within the next couple of business days. You must print it out and bring it along with you to present it at the immigration booth.

The 2nd day of the Lobuche Peak Climbing journey is reserved for preparation for the trek. You should fully utilize this day by making sure that you check all the boxes for a successful Himalayan trekking experience. Our trek guide will let you know all the essentials you will need for this trek, and we expect you to pack your bags accordingly. We will also get your Everest National Park entrance permit from the Tourism Board Office in Kathmandu.

Things like sunglasses, sun hats, sun screen, water purification tablets, energy bars, etc., are almost essential because without them, you will have a terrible time. Your heavy bags will be handled by Glory Adventure’s strong porters while trek guides and climbing leaders will tag along in your Lobuche Peak Climbing journey.

Today is our first day of trekking. We will start the day in Kathmandu (1400 m), have a lovely breakfast at our last night’s accommodation, and head to the airport on a private vehicle. Once we get there, we will get on the short and scenic 40-minute flight to Lukla.

Reaching the 2860-meter-high settlement of Lukla, we will begin our trek to Phakding shortly. The distance between the two places is slightly over 8 km and takes about 3.5 hours to complete. The trail is plain and easy with a slight descent all along the way. You will get to see views of Kusum Kanguru and Thamserku after crossing the Hillary Bridge.

The 4th day of the Lobuche Peak Climbing journey takes us to the charming and popular town of Namche Bazaar; it’s kind of a utopia in the middle of nowhere. Gaining over 800 metres of altitude, we will reach 3440 meters of elevation by the end of today’s trek. This trek stretches almost 11 km, which takes about 6 to 7 hours to complete since it has many ascents and descents in addition to the plethora of hanging bridges.

The trek starts on a trail following the Dudh Koshi River upstream. Passing many Sherpa villages, including Toktok, Benkar, and more, we will finally make it to Monjo. This place is the entrance to the Everest National Park, and our permits will be checked here. From Monjo, we will first get to Jorsale and climb an hour of ascending trail to Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar is the largest village in the Khumbu region, which means that there is a lot to explore and your day will be anything but a turn off. This day is very important to let your body adapt well to the sudden change in atmosphere and environment. To utilize your day to the maximum, we will take you on an acclimatization hike to Hotel Everest View, the highest hotel in the world. After you are back from this hike, you can explore the town’s different attractions.

Our destination of the day is the 3860-meter-high village of Tengboche. Today’s trek is going to cover about 10 km of distance within 5 to 6 hours of trekking, gaining us over 400 meters of elevation. The trek starts with a ridgeline accompanied by the scene of the valley and nearby peaks.

After about 2.5 hours of walking, we will reach Phunki Tenga. We will then cross over a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River to ascend over 500 meters and reach Tengboche. This ascent is not going to be easy since the gradient is quite high and there are a lot of switchbacks.

Day 7 of Glory Adventure’s Lobuche Peak Climbing journey takes us to Dingboche village, reaching 4410 meters above sea level. This trek is about 11 km long, requires about 6 hours to complete, and gains us an elevation of 550 meters. Leaving Tengboche  Monetary, we will go through a forested trail to reach Deboche.

Then, we will go over a suspension bridge and trek an uphill section to get to Pangboche (3985 m). This is the last major village on today’s route before we reach Dingboche. You will get to visit the Pangboche monastery (the oldest in the region) and also enjoy the views of Ama Dablam.

Today is the second acclimatization day of the Lobuche Peak Climbing journey. We will go on an amazing side trek to Nangkartsheng Peak, aka Nagarjun Peak. This hike will cover over 8 km round trip, gain us about 670 meters of elevation, and require 4 to 5 hours of trekking. The ascent all the way to Nangkartsheng Peak is considered very moderate with some challenging sections. But with the help of Adventure Glory’s trek guide, you will complete this trip easily.

The 9th day of the Lobuche Peak Climbing journey finally takes us to the Lobuche village. This village sits at 4910 meters above sea level, which gains us about 500 meters of elevation. We will cover over 8 km to get there, trekking for about 5 to 6 hours. Leaving Dingboche, we will head northwest with views of the Imja valley.

In about 3 hours, we will arrive at Thukla village (Dughla) and get on a 200-meter-long ascent to Thukla Pass. The trail turns plain after that point and takes us to Lobuche.

We will start the day with a trek alongside the Khumbu Glacier with views of Nuptse and Pumori. We will soon cross glacial moraines to get to Gorakshep. We will get a room there, put down our heavy bags, and get on the trail to EBC. It’s a 4.5 km hike to the base camp, and the trail is very mild with no sharp ascents or heavy descents.

It will take us about 4 to 5 hours to get to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep. In total, we will be on the road for a maximum of 8 hours. It will be an exhausting day, to say the least.

Today is the most scenic day of the Lobuche Peak Climbing journey as we get to see the amazing panoramic view from the viewpoint of Kalapatthar. This hike will gain us about 380 meters of elevation, cover over 12 km of distance, and keep us on the road for about 2.5 hours. Kalapatthar is 5545 meters high above sea level, which makes it the highest point of this trek, next to Lobuche peak.

After enjoying the scenes, we will get back to Gorakshep for lunch and get on the trail down to Lobuche. Going all the way down to Lobuche will lose us over 600 meters of elevation. The descent is very mellow with no difficult passages.

The trek from Lobuche to Lobuche High Camp is only 3.5 km long but takes about 4 hours to complete since we will be ascending almost 500 meters. The ascent starts gradually over rocky trails as we make our way alongside the Lobuche Glacier. As we move forward, the trail turns steeper with uneven rocks dominating the earth.

We will reach the Lobuche Peak base camp, also known as the Lobuche High Camp, shortly. Our Adventure Glory crew members will set up the camp for the night and cook you some packaged food, as fresh ingredients are not available at such a remote elevation.

Our climbing leader will have us attend a pre-climb briefing and training session. He will let us know what to avoid, how to climb, and the proper use of climbing gear. Equipment such as ice axes, crampons, spikes, ropes, carabiners, harnesses, etc., is all essential for this climb.

Today’s total trekking distance is 17 km, making it one of the longest trek distances of the Lobuche Peak Climbing journey. We will start the climb at around 3 in the morning, and by the time of sunrise, we should be up at the summit. We will climb the southeast ridgeline, use crampons and ice axes, and follow the climb leader to get to the summit. A panoramic view of Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, and many more peaks awaits us.

After a successful climb, we will descend to the high camp, have our breakfast, gather our belongings, and get on the road to Pheriche. It will take us about 4 to 5 hours to reach Pheriche. The trail is rocky and uneven, but with the help of trekking poles, you will be able to get down without any issue. The trail goes along the Tsola River, offering a great valley scene.

Day 14 of the Lobuche Peak Climbing journey is yet another descending day. We will cover over 19.5 km by the end of the day, which is the longest trekking day of this trek. The average time taken for this day’s trek is 6 to 7 hours, losing over 800 meters of elevation. The descent begins with a trek alongside the Pheriche River, taking us through a forest of rhododendron, with views of peaks and valleys. We will then cross the Dudh Koshi River over a suspension bridge and climb the ascent to Namche Bazaar.

Today’s total distance is almost 18 km, which requires 6 to 7 hours of trekking. This trek will bring us down 640 meters in elevation. We will start the trek with a sharp descent alongside a lush forest as we descend over switchbacks. The sharp descent turns plain after about 30 minutes and takes us to a bridge, crossing the Dudh Koshi River. After this section, we will get on an ascending trail all the way to Lukla.

This day marks the end of the trekking days of the Lobuche Peak Climbing journey. We will wake up early in the morning, have a lovely breakfast, and get on the aircraft to Kathmandu. We can not do this flight in the afternoon because the weather is very unpredictable in the hills. It will take us 40 minutes to reach Kathmandu; one of our drivers will be there to pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation for the night
